Severus put down his tea and watched the couple walk out of the great hall for some grand weekend away.
He tried not to think about what they would be doing, about warm beaches or cozy cabins or whatever, and the things couples traditionally did in far off hotel rooms. It turned his stomach.
Hermione -Professor Granger- hadn't told him where they were going, because she herself didn't know. He knew that she would have told him if she knew, they were friends now, and Severus didn't dwell on how much he enjoyed her company. How much he thought about her as he lay in the dark, willing sleep to ease his anxious mind.
And he prayed, begged and pleaded with whatever deities may exist that that damned boy wasn't proposing.
Scowling, and secretly terrified, Severus left his tea behind and stormed off to the dungeons.
